Sarah Auty, South Elmsall Articles / Brick Walls Posted by gphillips on Jun 12, 2007 - 07:35 PM I have discovered that one of my ancestors was Sarah Auty, daughter of William, a labourer and am looking for other descendants or any information o Sarah married John PICKERING in South Kirkby Parish Church on 29 June 1868. She was shown as a spinster and with no profession and of full age. Her father was shown as William Auty, labourer. In the 1891 census, her birthplace was shown as South Elmale, which I think was really South Elmsall. As far as I can tell, she died in the March quarter of 1896; in Huddersfield, aged 55, which would suggest she was born about 1841 (although the 1891 census shows her as 48, which would suggest 1843!).
