Hi All,
I'm trying to find details (e.g. Married who / where / when, descendants / family, died when / where) of an Isabella (Elizabeth?) Auty, born about 1838 in Dewsbury, W.Yorks to Richard Auty (b 1796) and Hannah Auty (nee Robinson b abt. 1795). Isabella is on the 1841 census living in Fall Lane, Dewsbury and appears as an Elizabeth? on the 1851 census living in West Town, Dewsbury but I can't determine whether she married or died before 1861 where she doesn't appear on the census as an Auty.
All / any assistance / information gratefully received :)

Frances is on the 1841 census living in Fall Lane, Dewsbury but I can't determine whether she married or died before 1851 where she doesn't appear on the census as an Auty.

I've just lost all the text I entered, so I'll keep this brief now...
Does anyone have any evidence to back up the entry in Brian Auty's database which shows Christopher Auty being christened on 17 Jan 1830, in Dewsbury, and being the son of Richard and Hannah Auty? Any other ancestral information on this line would be very helpful. I have been stuck for two years.

I am trying to trace my Auty history and have got as far as
Henry Auty born 1835 in Cudworth, Yorkshire Mother called Ann ????
married Elizabeth ?? born 1836 in Barnsley
children Edward Henry b 1865
Annie b 1868
Tom Alfred b 1874
Can anyone give me any more information please.

I've just started Researching my Auty Line. Our family does not remember much about the family. I was able to get this far. There are two George Autys in the 1901 census in Dewsbury. One born 1874 and the other 1878. I'm trying to figure out which one is our George Auty.

Hi Brian,
My name is David Sumner and my grandfather on my mothers side was Enoch Place Auty born in Foxboro, MA in USA on Aug. 8, 1883 and died in North Attleboro, MA on Aug. 7, 1960. His father was Enoch Place Auty who married Adeline Wilthume. The only information that I know of my great grandparents is that she is buried in Plainville, MA. Do you have any information on this line of the family?

My Father, John Spencer Auty b.1944, Somerset (UK) area had a father Cyril / Cyryl ? Auty who was born approx 1910-1914. I never really knew him or quizzed him on his family and roots, but always had heard that he had a mother/father from Yorkshire area, but I believe he, himself was born in Bristol.
I believe he had at least 2 sisters, one of whom was called Mary, and would have been born around the same time. She married a man who worked in the merchant navy, John X and they lived in Cornwall.
Do these names fit with any trees you have seen ? I have so little time to research the family. I also know that I have distant relatives in Canada, but have never met them.

I have only two Auty names in my file. They are Ann Auty (Awty) b. 1 Oct 1797 in Dewsbury, Yorkshire. She married George Ambler 21 Nov 1814. He was born about 1793 in Leeds, Yorkshire and was buried in Staffordshire and also Jonathan Auty (her father) who married Jane and that is all. Does any of this fit? I have a little notebook that belonged to my Grandmother that has many names in it. Includied in that notebook but without links to family are: Christiana Auty b.25 Dec 1831 in York and d.30 Nov 1890 and a George Auty b. 11 Dec 1818 in York and d 22 June 1885. We are looking for relations or information of Muriel Marjorie Auty b. 1913 in Burton on Trent, Staffordshire daughter of Ralph A. Auty and Evelyn (nee Hoe) Auty. The family had moved to Bristol then London. Our last information of her was her marriage to Joseph Dudley Shuldham De Guerin in 1947. They were living at Glen House, Glen Avenue, Ashford, Middlesex. Her father was last registared in Burnham On Crouch,Essex. I would appreciate any help in locating this family. Her father was my grandfather's brother.

I traced my tree all the way back through the Warmfield Auty's to Thomas, christened 3/4/1743 who's father was John. From other contributors it appears as though John may be common to many of us and is listed as possibly Johannes C. 3.10.1689 in Woodkirk with a father called Richardi. Has anyone confirmed that link or is there a missing generation, with John possibly being son of Johannes? I note in the West Riding of Yorkshire- Woodkirk link there is an entry with a family headed by a John with a son Joseph C 25/12/1714. It goes on to state Josephs father was John probably Johannes.However my Thomas, who's father is elsewhere on the site listed as John, probably Johannes, has a brother called John C 22/12/1734. Surely Johannes wouldn't have two sons, born 20 years apart, both called John? Anyone help.

Hi! I am doing something different here. I am finding that some people have pictures of Joseph Auty b. 1871 married to Silva Coomes Family in Southgate, Middlesex, England.
Both Brian and myself have received pictures of two of his daughters Sarah Auty who married Charles Harley and Matilda Auty who married William Collins. I am wondering is there any possibility of some one having a picture of their parents Joseph and Silva. Unfortunately, as my family moved to Canada originally 1912, it appears Percy Richard Auty didn't have or if he did, they were lost as he was always on the move.

Richard Auty, born 1796, Dewsbury, is my current brick wall, so I would be grateful for any information on his ancestors, spouse, and children.Secondly, I would appreciate any information that substantiates Richard Auty's relationship with his grandson William Auty, born 1859, Dewsbury, husband of Annie Sheard, born 27 Oct 1859, Dewsbury, married 1885, Dewsbury.William and Annie are my great-grandparents.

Joshua Auty (b. 1685) m. Martha in 1715. I have been searching for when he died. So far I have not being able to find records of his death. Can anyone help. He had one son Joshua who moved to Mirfied. He may have followed his son or stayed in Woodkirk area.Russell Auty

8. Frank AUTY married Carrie Crowe (1898-1966), probably in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, England. They lived in Plymouth during the war and were bombed out and returned to Huddersfield. I believe Frank died before 1955. He was a professional musician and played the cello in an orchestra in Huddersfield. They had one daughter.

Update: Charles Auty who married Jane had at least 5 children in Dewsbury or Huddersfield: Fred (1865), Charles Edward (1872), Albert (1874), Willie (1877), Annie (1878)
Albert married Annie Lydall and had only Frank Lydall Auty (1898) before Annie died.
Charles Edward married Eliza and had Percy in 1893 in Huddersfield.
That makes Percy (1893) the cousin of Frank Lydall (1898), and probably the witness at the marriage of F L Auty to Carrie Crow in 1925.

7. James Royd AUTY, born ca 1890 in England married to Mary Ellen and had 7 children. Mary had a son, Brian prior to this marriage. Brian's father is an unknown Canadian.
